Welcome!

This tutorial is intended to give you an overview of Linux and basic shell commands.

The shell is a program that takes commands and gives them to the Operating System (OS) to perform.

You can interact with the shell using a program called terminal emulator, “terminal” for short.

How much shell experience do you have? We’d like to know. Click this link to take part in a very short survey (1 question).

On a side note, we have created a github repo which details resources one might find useful when doing the MSc AI course. It can be found here. We note that we encourage YOU to add links, tools, scripts, books etc which you have found useful so far + raise issues + ask for new features - lets grow this resource together!
