Lectures and labs

The course will run from Week 1 to Week 9, and will consist of a mix of guided study materials, live interactive lecture sessions, and live supported lab sessions.

Guided study materials

You are expected to go through the guided study materials on this website on your own (or with your coursemates).

While some time has been allocated for you in your official timetable, you are free to organise your own time for this as you see fit.

Live lecture session

There will be at least one live lecture session per week. The schedule has been provided on the main page.

We will mainly use the live session to reinforce your learning and knowledge, by applying what you learnt from your guided study to some practical and advanced problems. You may also use this chance to bring up any questions to the instructor.

We may hold the live lecture session at any of the allocated time slots in the week depending on what the best arrangement is for the week (although it will most likely be on Wednesday or Thursday). We will announce this on this website and on Piazza, so keep your eyes peeled.

Labs

There will be at least 3 hours of supported lab sessions per week. Again, please refer to the schedule on the main page.

The lab session is the place for you to get direct help and feedback from our Teaching Assistants on your lab exercises, or if you have any doubts about the guided study materials. You may work on the provided guided study materials and lab exercises during the scheduled lab sessions (or outside those hours).
